Despite the fact that his grandson currently sits atop the Iron Throne, there is no denying the real king of Westeros is Twyin Lannister. His role as Hand of the King gives him an unlimited amount of sway over the young monarch Tommen, a boy who looks to be much less power mad and headstrong than his deceased brother. As the head of the most powerful and influential family in all of the Seven Kingdoms, as well as the perceived wealthiest (though that has now been proven to be a misconception), Tywin is one of the worlds most feared men. A fear that was never earned on the battlefield, but well-deserved nonetheless. The gravitas that Charles Dance brings to the role, exuding arrogance, repugnance and authority in every scene has been a treat to watch. The patriarch has a different relationship with each of his children, and despite the contempt he feels for each of them in one way or another, they all three still seek his approval, even if only subconsciously. Its a complex family structure the likes of which weve rarely seen on television. Well, if you factor in that his children are a dwarf and a set of incestuous twins, weve never seen anything remotely like it before. Twyin Lannister is the very definition of boss status, and a delicious character whose absence would cause the show to suffer severely. And while hes sure to meet his end at some point, heres hoping it isnt anytime soon.
