Alongside House of Cards, this is the one which helped start it all for Netflix, so it's worth checking out for that reason alone. But more-so it's worth checking out for how seamlessly it blends absurd comedy with gut-wrenching drama.
The show (and the Emmys) could never decide which it wanted to be in the first couple of years, and although it does both sides well it has transitioned more into full-on drama in the last couple of years, especially in the brutal but brilliant Season 4.
Its best move was pulling the focus away from Piper and making it a true ensemble, which is quite unlike anything else Netflix really have in that regard, and it's another show where it's impossible to watch just one. The show is renewed through Season 7 at the very least, while GLOW is already shaping up as a perfect companion or replacement series for those who are fans.
