10 Fastest Ships In Battlestar Galactica
10. The Resurrection Ship
When the Cylons began to evolve following their initial revolution, one of their greatest technological discoveries was the ability to resurrect fallen Cylons.
Initially, it was thought that when a Cylon died, they were dead forever. However, this was proven to be false with the introduction of the Resurrection Ship in the season two finale of the hit drama.
The Resurrection ship acts as a signal transceiver of the Colony, where the actual resurrection device lay. These highly advanced ships were placed inside every major Cylon fleet, receiving fallen Cylon's personalities and memories and downloading them into premade backup bodies. This feature was used for all fallen Cylon Raiders, Centurions, and of course Human Cylon models.
Resurrection ships are incredibly slow, despite being the most important ship in any Cylon fleet. They don't have any real form of protection from outer space either, beyond an extremely fragile sheet of glass that can be destroyed with even small arms.
So a Resurrection Ship is highly advanced, extremely slow, and unbelievably vulnerable to attack. These major design flaws allowed the humans of Galactica to get the upper hand on their Cylon rivals quite often in the series, giving the Cylons the one thing that previously separated them from being true humans. The fear of death.
