8. Revealing Post-It Notes
Character development and ‘padding’ is used very cleverly in The Good Place. There are so many little moments throughout the show which add further detail to a character to help you follow the path of their afterlives, and also learn about their vastly different personalities.
As the show chugs forward, following the gang on their eternal expedition in 'paradise', the episodes reveal more and more layers of their nature through the different after-life lessons thrown their way. However, this isn't always so obvious.
When Janet and Michael are watching the group back on earth, we can see Post-it notes describing their progress, saying everything from "Tahani primping again," to "Jason is very cute." There's even a counter of how many times Tahani has looked in a mirror.
This has cleverly added to Janet's love for Jason and also, the obvious, Tahani's big head. What, didn't we know that already?
