10. Matthew Perry - Caroline In The City

Even though Friends' Chandler Bing is of course one of the most iconic TV characters of all time, did you know that Matthew Perry also played him during a cameo appearance on hit sitcom Caroline in the City?

In the show's sixth ever episode, Annie (Amy Pietz) visits the video rental store - remember those? - to pick out a movie, at which point Perry's Chandler can be seen browsing titles in the "sports" aisle.

Upon clocking Annie and clearly showing an interest in her, he puts the sports tape down and picks up the decidedly classier art-house flick The Piano instead.

Chandler then uses this to start a conversation with Annie where he attempts to project an image of himself as a refined lover of cinema, but when he asks Annie what she's renting, she reveals she's going to watch Sorority House Massacre II.

Upon realising his gaffe, Chandler hilariously quips, "So I could've pretty much just been myself," and when Annie insists that he indeed be himself, he panics, freezes up, and promptly leaves the rental store.

Even die-hard Friends fans are still learning about this cameo, no matter that Caroline in the City was a hugely popular sitcom in its own right.
