It's hard to believe that The Walking Dead was once considered a risky investment. Back in 2010 zombies still only appealed to a niche audience, one that had admittedly been growing steadily for some time prior. Frank Darabont was showrunner, lending it a high profile name to attract those skeptical of the premise. Could a serialized drama set during the zombie apocalypse really be successful? Four years later, and the answer is a resounding yes. Not only was the first season a success, but it has since become one of the most watched shows in television history. Each season brings in more and more viewers who can't help but get invested in Rick and the groups' ongoing struggle to survive. However, The Walking Dead is far from a perfect show. In fact, there are instances where it is downright mediocre, and this is because there are substantial issues that hold it back. Some are avoidable, while others are inherent to the premise, and the writers have had to finds ways to get around these issues. Some work, others don€™t, hence why the quality can be so inconsistent. The Walking Dead may be AMC€™s most popular show, but it is not their best. Here are 10 major problems with The Walking Dead.
