Rick Sanchez is a genius scientist who has been all across the universe and lived a crazy, often illegal life. He is also an alcoholic, and a reckless sociopath. Voiced by Justin Roiland, Rick’s selfish and mean behaviour is hilarious, especially towards his grandson, Morty, who he takes through the galaxy with him on their many adventures.

While Rick can be rough around the edges, it makes the moments of kindness and love that shine through towards Morty and his family that much more satisfying. The dialogue is hilarious and brilliantly written, and Rick’s unknown past adds depth and mystery to this wonderful animation.
