In the last season of the show, the continued joke that the school was under reconstruction was actually to explain the recreated sets used when Yahoo took over the show after it was cancelled by NBC.

In an interview with Alison Brie, she revealed that the cast actually filmed the series' swan song under the set of Parks and Recreation. That's right, Annie Edison was actually walking round the same building as Lesley Knope. Now that's a crossover for the ages.
