8. Olenna's Plot
Olenna Tyrell was one of the most rewarding characters in Game Of Thrones and while her death robbed us of a titanic figure and ultimate snarker, she at least got a final opportunity to lay some verbal smackdown on Jaime Lannister by revealing she killed Joffrey.
In that moment, she once again confirmed how much of a master planner she was and also how much she seems to know about the machinations of other characters, which we might have seen more of if one scene from Season 6 hadn't been left on the editing room floor.
In the scene, Olenna discusses the Lannisters with her son, Mace Tyrell and shines a light for him on how much he is being manipulated as Cersei's Master of Coin, despite his ignorance. She reveals that she plans to free her grandchildren - Loras and Margaery - hinting at just how close Cersei's plan came to failure.
