10 Most Cringe-Worthy Celebrity Interviews

6. Crispin Glover vs. Letterman

We should never expect the expected from Crispin Glover, given his track record as an eccentric, even going as far as to direct a film entirely acted by people with Down's Syndrome. His 1987 appearance on David Letterman has gone down in history as one of the host's most infamous interviews, as Glover, on the show to promote River's Edge, comes out dressed up in character - complete with platform shoes and a wig - as Rubin from his movie Rubin and Ed, which hadn't yet been released. Glover acts erratic for most of the interview, before challenging Letterman to an arm-wrestling match, and then delivering a kick into the air that nearly puts the host's lights out. Letterman eventually grows exasperated with Glover's weirdness and cuts the interview short by walking off the set, to the confusion of just about everyone.
