4. Roseanne

The final season of Roseanne shows the family winning the lottery, going on a bender, and living it up, a plot line that was building up to a disastrous end. But, it turns out, that this story was fictional, created by Roseanne in her writings. In reality, her husband Dan never recovered from the heart-attack he suffered, and other new details shown about her family were actually false, in order to make her story more dramatic.

Sure, the ending was sad and touching, but I personally didn’t see why a fun, uplifting show ended in a way that made fans sad, uncomfortable, and hating the “dream-sequence” even more than they did before.
