10 Most Hated Battlestar Galactica Episodes

10. Hero - Season 3, Episode 8

When Bulldog, who was captured by Cylons many years ago on a mission ordered by Adama, escapes and gets to the fleet, Adama becomes haunted by the idea that he may been the catalyst for the Cylon attack on the twelve colonies. The Bulldog storyline is fine, though it does raise some questions like why do the Cylons keep resorting to these convoluted plans.

Less successful is the exploration of Adama’s psyche. Adama gets so wracked by guilt that he breaks down in front of Lee and even tenders his resignation to Roslin. Adama has always carried around a heavy burden for some of the tough choices he has had to make. But thinking the war is his fault is a bridge too far.

Knowing the entire story it's obvious that the Cylons were planning the attack years before the said mission even happened; something Adama should be well aware of. This sudden guilt is also hard to buy when there has been zero hint of it for the past two seasons.

For someone so dedicated to duty, Adama being so outwardly dramatic feels out of character making this outing less than heroic.
