10 Most Rewatchable Horror TV Shows

10. Holliston

Our first entry on this list is a bit of an oddball as it isn’t technically a horror series, but rather a sitcom shown through the lens of the horror genre. Ever wondered what would happen if two horror movie directors teamed up with infamous horror actors to create a wacky, blood-soaked sitcom? Well wonder no more. Holliston ran for two seasons before unfortunately being stopped due to the network it was on going bankrupt and the untimely passing of cast member Dave Brockie. The show was recently added to Shudder and creator Adam Green has hinted that third season may be possible if the show does well.

Loosely based on Adam Green’s true life story, Holliston revolves around a pair of hardcore horror nerds who dream of being horror movie directors. They work at a tiny cable company producing low budget late-night television commercials where they often steal equipment in order to produce their own content.

The first two seasons chart their journey to producing a short film named “Shinpads” about an undead Mexican soccer team. It’s as ridiculous as it sounds but, through a series of strange happenings, they are able to involve several iconic members of the horror movie universe including Kane Hodder, Danielle Harris and John Landis (to name just a few).

More surprisingly than the fact horror movie comedy can be funny is the amount of heart found in this show. Not just in the typical will-they-won’t-they sitcom narrative trope but between all of the friends. The fact the show is low budget and the cast are all legitimate friends in real life gives this a surprisingly touching and charming tone.
