Clara's speech in Death In Heaven whilst masquerading as the Doctor, has prompted a fair bit of discussion about the many wives of Doctor Who. As the impossible girl she ought to have known that this was a little disingenuous. Taking into account spin off material, the Doctor has in fact been married more than four times - perhaps unsurprisingly given his age, and if Amy Pond is anything to go by, his irresistible appeal. Marilyn Monroe, River Song and Elisabeth II are the only confirmed spouses in the televised stories (although the First Doctor had a near miss in The Aztecs), leading to speculation as to the identity of the fourth. Should we assume that he was wedded to Susan's Grandmother? Besides the weddings of convenience, there have been plenty of hints that the Time War claimed the lives of his natural family. Who knows how many more wives, or husbands for that matter, might come out of the woodwork? Now that's a point, Maisie Williams isn't playing...? Surely not?
