10 Most Underappreciated Seasons Of Cult-Favourite TV Shows
2. Season 2 - Scream Queens
The first season of Scream Queens didn't exactly blow-up the way that Fox had hoped, and this comedy-horror hybrid struggled to finds its audience.
Thankfully Fox was kind enough to grant it a second chance, but rumours of a turbulent production and a severely slashed budget soon circulated, and the end product does show signs of meddling - particularly with its largely condensed plotlines.
However, in spite of those supposed odds, Scream Queen's second season is superior to its first in many ways. For starters, the writing is far sharper and the decision to move the action to an ill-fated teaching hospital that backs onto a swamp was very inspired. They ditched the gloss and grandeur of the sorority house in favour of parodying low-rent hospital dramas and the results were genuinely astounding in places.
The hospital setting gave the writers a chance to flex their comedic muscles by introducing new patients in each episode that had seemingly incurable conditions, each more ridiculous and bizarre than the last. This new direction, coupled with great new additions to the cast like Taylor Lautner and John Stamos made this one of the most misunderstood and criminally underrated seasons of television for quite some time.
