10 New Fall TV Shows With Potential

4. The Flash

We first met Barry Allen on the CW's surprisingly good superhero adventure Arrow, where he was met with a tremendous amount of fan approval. So it didn't exactly require a massive leap of logic to determine that the CW, always last in ratings among the major networks, would try to milk the character for everything he's worth. Hence the creation of the Flash's very own television show.Stylistically, it borrows a lot from Arrow, in that it is a more down-to-earth, gritty interpretation of the sometimes fantastical comic book stories, but the characters couldn't be further apart. Allen is likeable character, hardly the detached loner type that more or less defines Oliver Queen. From the extended previews that have been released, it looks like The Flash is going to serve as a slightly more light-hearted counterpart to Arrow, which is exactly the right tone to strike. Where Arrow will have angst and drama, The Flash will have good old-fashioned fun. Bring on the DC Comics shows!
