10 Reasons Why Data Was A Dangerous Threat To The Enterprise

He has unmatched strength, an unbeatable intellect, and an evil twin. What could go wrong?

Data is one of the most invaluable members of the USS Enterprise 1701-D. That is an indisputable fact. Without this amazing android, any number of calamities would have befallen the crew of the Enterprise.

Not only that, but a lot of civilian populations would also have died horrible deaths at the hands of frightening aliens or bizarre space anomalies. Data’s a peach. There’s no getting around it, and we all love him for it.

But, he’s also incredibly dangerous. Like, dangerous enough that it really doesn’t make sense to have him aboard a Federation starship. And it’s insane for Starfleet to have granted Data the position of the second officer. Even more absurd to place him aboard one of their most important ships. Data, himself, proves this point time and time again throughout the series.

There are countless examples of Data going rogue. He’s taken over the ship, he’s lied to his commanding officers, and he’s been subject to manipulation.

It’s a terrible truth, but Data shouldn’t have ever been allowed to set foot on the Enterprise. He’s too much of a risk...

10. He Can Beat The Hell Out Of Worf

Ok, so there are plenty of Youtube montages out there of Worf getting his ass kick over and over. They’re pretty funny actually. The poor guy got tossed around like a rag doll by just about everyone aboard the ship at some point.

But, normally, Worf’s opponents were overpowering aliens. Or, sometimes fellow crew members possessed by overpowering aliens. The one guy aboard the ship who could consistently rough Worf up was Data, though.

In fact, Data could probably take down any warrior in the Klingon Empire. We’ve seen him wreck powerful foes numerous times on the show.

Getting in a fight with Data really isn’t a fight, it’s just humiliation. Data doesn’t bother to engage in any fighting style. And you know he’s programmed for, like, jiu-jitsu or something.

Most of the time it’s far more efficient for Data to grab you by the shoulder and toss you across the bridge like a sack of potatoes. Why is this important, though?

Well, Worf is the Chief of Security aboard the Enterprise. He’s the first line of defense against any threat on the ship. And, he’s a Klingon which makes him physically imposing. But, if Worf or any of his mustard-shirt wearing toadies try to take on Data.

We all know how that fight will go.
