10. Rachel & Chandler's Romance

Fans of the show will surely remember the Season three episode, ‘The One With The Flashback’, in which Janice asks the gang if any of them had ever slept with each other, or ever ‘almost’ got together. This lead to a flashback episode in which different members of the group came close to hooking up with each other.

One of the plots of the episode featured Rachel having doubts about marrying Barry and declaring that she wants a fling with the next guy she sees, resulting in Chandler trying and failing to get with Rachel.

However, at the end of episode, Rachel fantasises about going to the bar to find Chandler and make out with him. Reportedly, this was used as a test by the writers who were considering putting the two characters in a romantic relationship at the time.

Would this have worked? They certainly never seemed to have the same on-screen chemistry with each other as they did with other cast members.

Besides, Chandler belongs with Monica and Rachel belongs with Ross. I refuse to picture it any other way.
