Plucked from Kings collection, Nightmares & Dreamscapes, The Ten OClock People is a twisted little parable which presents those in power as batlike monsters in disguise. The crux of the tale being that the only people with the ability to see these creatures are those that are attempting to quit smoking. Its a neat little premise that with some trimming and contemporising (keep the Boston setting, though) could be the type of battle versus good and evil that would make for prime TV fodder. Lets face it, this is the type of show that SyFy viewers would lap up. A Jay Baruchel starring feature film remains in the mooted stage, so this one is still ripe for the picking.
