4. He Was Nominated 4 Times For An Emmy... But Never Won
Of course, Leonard Nimoy was best known as an actor. And any actor of his caliber couldn't be a stranger to award nominations. It's therefore no surprise that Nimoy received an Emmy nomination for the 1982 film A Woman Called Golda, in which he played Golda Meir's husband. This was actually the fourth Emmy nomination of his career, the other three being for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Drama (the drama being Star Trek, of course). Incredibly, he didn't win any of the four awards. Which is nothing short of a travesty. But Nimoy did receive the recognition he deserved from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, a body perhaps better suited to understanding the true scale of what he'd achieved. He won three awards from them between 1987 and 2010 - two lifetime awards and a Saturn award for Best Guest Star (for his appearance in Fringe). Best of all, in 1985 Leonard Nimoy got a star on the Walk of Fame, which was more than deserved.
