10. Ross Wanting To Sleep With His Cousin

This storyline was just outright weird from the get-go.

In the season seven episode 'The One With Ross And Monica's Cousin', the Gellers' cousin Cassie comes to stay with Monica and Chandler. Played by the stunning Denise Richards, the producers clearly wanted to cash in on her looks, but they did it in the oddest way possible. When Chandler finds himself attracted to her, Cassie moves in with Ross to avoid any conflict. Surprisingly, the eldest Geller sibling also finds himself attracted to his own cousin, and actually tries to make a move on her, with disastrous consequences.

Let's face it - the whole affair is quite strange. While Ross has shown to be many things throughout the show's run, borderline incestuous isn't one of them. It's very out of character for him and the humour just doesn't sit right, especially with a modern audience. It's a standalone episode, so it's clearly a filler of a plot, but for a subject which can be potentially very serious, it seems quite risky, and is completely irrelevant to the wider show.
