This song is from one of the worst episodes Glee have ever made but unfortunately one of the most watched. This episode, the second episode of Season 2- the first Britney Spears episode- was really just 40 minutes of Glee copying Britney's music videos. Again, it is difficult to ever criticize Lea Michele's technically breathtaking voice, but this is probably the worst she has ever sounded and her voice sounds super effected as if she is putting on an American accent. Unfortunately for Lea Michele also, she doesn't look all that good in this video... but then again maybe you disagree. I think Lea Michele is very often stunningly pretty, in fact I would even go as far to say I think she is one of the most attractive people on television, but this performance looks forced, desperate and really, what was the whole point of this. She looks like a bratty, spoilt self absorbed teenage girl here and the music number is really offering nothing new to the song, and is pretty much copying the original music video scene by scene. There is zero creative merit in this whole number and I find it difficult to believe that Ryan Murphy wasn't regretting this decision half way through the filming. If it was funny it probably wouldn't be all that dreadful- but it isn't. In fact, I really don't know what this is.
