10. Flying Solo

More than one comparison can be made between everybody's favourite Corellian Smuggler and Captain Reynolds and its Nathan Fillion himself who ensured that Captain Solo became a hidden part of the 'verse.

Fillion has made no attempt at hiding his love of Star Wars and in particular the Captain of the Falcon (Rey should have never been allowed to sit in that pilots seat). After multiple references while filming, the prop department decided to oblige.

If you keep a close eye throughout the series, a small replica of the moment Han Solo is frozen in Carbonite can be seen, mostly around the crew quarters of the Serenity.

Han may have trust issues when letting anybody touch or even board his ship, but it's interesting to imagine how much more successful Han would of been in the smuggling game if he had a reliable team behind him (well Zoe and Kaylee was reliable at least).
