Callies struck up a great friendship with Andrew Lincoln, and says that leaving behind such a fantastic group of actors was the hardest part of leaving The Walking Dead, with no higher praise dished out than what she gave to Lincoln. She explained to EW: "Andy Lincoln is one of the finest actors and finest human beings Ive ever met. Lincoln paid tribute to Callies in Artfino: "Its the worst thing about the job the only bad thing. We lose such beloved great friends first and foremost, but also incredibly good actors. For me, Sarah was the best leading lady that Ive ever had the pleasure of working with so its an enormous loss, but that said what it does for the journey and the character development of Rick and the boy and everyone else in the group is great compensation.
