Don't make the mistake of thinking RuPaul's Drag Race is all about looks. While fashion and runway poise are important parts of the competition, there are challenges on the show that involve carefully choreographed dancing, scripted acting, and improvisational comedy (as in one of the show's most popular recurring features, "Snatch Game," a parody of classic 1970s game show Match Game). It's all but impossible to be an expert at every facet of drag, and even the most dominant queens typically find themselves at a loss at some point in the competition. Season after season, there are clashes between "pageant queens," who are all about style, and "comedy queens," who try to infuse their performances with an over-the-top personality. One discipline isn't better than the other - drag and those who practice it are multifaceted.
