Remember when Family Guy could be edgy but still have a solid story, like PTV? Compare that to "Herpe the Love Sore" where Brian gives Stewie Herpes. Was there a point to that? No. In fact, the episode managed, while attempting to shock, to come across as downright dull. Sure, you can usually get a surprised laugh or two with the shocking stuff, but the best Family Guy episodes actually had well-crafted stories. Anyone see where those went? Anyone? Bueller?
