It seems like the third Ghostbusters movie just won't get here before we die, so why not a Simpsons spoof of the Franchise? Pair up Homer, Chief Wiggum, Carl, and Professor Frink and you've got Venkman, Ray, Winston, and Egon. Have them investigate ghost sighting around town (feel free to include Hans Moleman, who can continually tell them that he's not actually dead only to be ignored), and you have the setting. Kirk can get the Rick Moranis type role. There's a lot of leeway with this franchise because any rendition of it needn't be a direct parody of the movies - you could instead go with an original plot based off the concept and using Simpsons characters.
