5. Heath - The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead has seen a lot of characters come and go. On a show that begins with the almost-complete-wipe-out of the human race, death and disappearances are par for the course. But never had a character been written off the show in such unceremonious a fashion as poor old Heath.

Heath was a background character on The Walking Dead that joined the show in season 6 and quickly fans took to him because of his intelligence and no-nonsense attitude. He was a pretty strait-laced dude, you know, for someone in the middle of an apocalypse.

The end to Heath’s story comes in a season 7 episode. In the episode, Heath and Tara are scavenging for supplies when they accidentally let loose a hoard of zombies that had been buried under a ton of sand.

The two are separated when Tara falls off of a bridge into the water and Heath is forced to escape without her. But when Tara eventually finds her way back to where they had parked their RV, she finds it gone, along with Heath. All that is left are his signature pair of glasses and a mysterious card with the letters PPP on it.

At the time this all looked like a very intriguing mystery, with the whereabouts of Heath hopefully, eventually revealed. But it never was, Heath never returned to the show and we are STILL left to wonder if he’s driving around blind or if his disappearance was the cause of something more nefarious.
