10. Raising Dion

Following the death of its Marvel universe, Netflix dipped its toes back into the superhero world late last year when it adapted the 2015 comic book (and short film) Raising Dion - and the result really was quite something.

Starring Alisha Wainwright as a widowed mother, the show tells the story of her attempts to deal with her eight year-old son's emerging superpowers. Without her husband Mark- who is portrayed by Michael B. Jordan in a series of moving flashbacks - by her side, she must attempt to raise Dion while also keeping his powers a secret from anyone who might wish to exploit him for their own gain.

The show received positive reviews from critics, who believed that it could legitimately thrive if given enough room to grow. And thankfully, it's going to get that opportunity, as Netflix have already renewed it for a second season - less than three months after it debuted.
