10 TV Shows You Didn't Know Had Weird Connections
2. Breaking Bad & Spider-Noir
0As previously explored in this list, Breaking Bad may have been the cause that led to the events of The Walking Dead, and it benefitted from a blessing in disguise thanks to How I Met Your Mother. It also allowed one of the biggest Marvel TV shows in recent years to come to fruition.
Of course, Breaking Bad has been looked at as the pinnacle of the television world for some time now, with the character development across five seasons being a big reason as to why. In particular, the layers and depth that Bryan Cranston was able to work into his role as Walter White are simply sensational.
As it turns out, this was a heavy inspiration for Nicolas Cage opening himself up to work in the world of TV, something he had previously written off entirely. More specifically, it was Breaking Bad that led to Cage playing Ben Reilly in Prime's Spider-Noir.
After voicing the character in Into the Spider-Verse, and seemingly about to do so again in Between the Spider-Verse, Cage told Variety that seeing what Cranston did with Mr. White gave him reason to believe that he could do something special himself on the small screen as well. Thankfully, Cage as Spider-Man went better than his ill-fated and unrealised Superman stint.
