10 TV Sidekicks Who Were Way Better Than Their Stars

10. Stiles - Teen Wolf

So here's the deal with the main character of Scott McCall on Teen Wolf: he's not that interesting. Like, he's a good person, he's sweet and compassionate and everything, but he tends to be sort of one note. Stiles, on the other hand, is a walking ball of layers. He's intensely loyal but not at all a doormat, fiercely intelligent and strategic but constantly in trouble at school, and if it weren't for his quick thinking, pretty much every single person on the show who matters would have died back in the first season. Stiles was your average teen on one of the lower rungs of the high school social ladder, until his best friend Scott was bitten by a werewolf. He took it upon himself to figure out what was going on with him, and stood by him even when Scott wanted to rip him to shreds (and that's the literal ripping to shreds, because, you know...werewolf). He's always there for the other characters to depend on, and his one-liners lighten the mood of a show that could otherwise have a tendency to get a little dark.
