10 Upcoming Amazon Original TV Shows To Be Excited About
1. Goliath
Formerly known as Trial, Goliath was able to forgo the usual pilot season and instead received a straight-to-series 10 episode order, a big sign of confidence given how Amazon tend to operate.
The legal drama will star Billy Bob Thornton as a down-and-out former hotshot lawyer, who has one shot at redemption. He'll become embroiled in a David v Goliath battle, fighting against a justice system weighted towards the rich and powerful.
2016 has been a great year for courtroom dramas, from The People v O.J. Simpson to The Night Of, and this could be another fine example. The last TV show Thornton decided to star in worked out rather well, and he's got some great support here from the likes of William Hurt and Maria Bello. It's created by David E. Kelley, creator of Ally McBeal, Boston Legal, Chicago Hope and many, many more, and means it should offer a cutting insight into the current state of the criminal justice system.
