5. Good Girls Revolt
Set at the end of the 60s, a time of cultural revolution, Good Girls Revolt takes place in one of the sectors where there wasn't a whole lot of change happening: newsrooms.
The focus of the show will be a team of female researchers - Jane Hollander (Anna Camp), Patti Robinson (Genevieve Angelson), Cindy Reston (Erin Darke) - who simply ask to be treated fairly. They'll launch a lawsuit, led by lawyer Eleanor Holmes Norton (Joy Bryant), that will affect everything from the company they work for, to people's marriages, sex lives, careers, and friendships.
The obvious comparison here is Mad Men, and while Revolt may not come close to ever reaching those highs, there appears to be more than enough here for a funny, entertaining, and insightful period piece.
