There were many occasions in Walter Whites fledgling criminal career when he had the chance to step back before things went too far, but the moment that truly marked the point of no return was the death of Jane. As youll recall quite vividly, were sure after a chance meeting with Janes father, Walt went to see Jesse in the hope of making amends and helping his protégé/lackey to kick his drug habit, but its fair to say things didnt go according to plan. Walts attempts to shake Jesse out of his drug stupor caused Jane to roll over onto her back, where she soon started to choke on her own vomit. And Walt let it happen. For some viewers, this was the moment that saw them hop off the Heisenberg bandwagon and cease to root for the shows protagonist, and a lot more would surely have switched sides if Vince Gilligan hadnt been overruled by his own writers. Breaking Bads creator pitched Walt giving her either a hot dose or second dose, and had he not been overruled the show would have taken on a different complexion, making it almost impossible to condone Walts already-dubious actions.
