10 Worst TV Performances Of 2017

9. Clive Standen - Taken

NBC

There's no shame in failing to fill the shoes of Liam Neeson, but this generic NBC thriller procedural's dull plotting and unfussed direction is only further dragged down by a lead performance from Clive Standen that's brutally lacking in charisma.

Though convincing enough in the action sequences, Standen lacks the grizzled personality of Neeson's older version of Bryan Mills, making the young equivalent feel like a bland cipher and little else.

Opting not to just imitate Neeson was probably a smart idea all things considered, but Standen also hasn't populated this fairly empty shell of a character with anything intriguing or much entertaining in lieu. It's pure formulaic network TV procedural nonsense, and his forgettable performance doesn't remotely help elevate it.
