There must have been a day in human history, in a drab Californian meeting room where a human being uttered that most immortal of phrases; "How about a cartoon about two mice who try to take over the world. But one's a genius and the other is insane". I imagine the other uptight suit types just sat there, stunned by the beauty of the sentence, then one by one began to hum. Indiscernible at first, but after some toe tapping a common melody arose. And that's how we got this incredible and instantly recognisable song. In my other job a piano man, I take requests from the crowd. And you would not believe me if I told you how often this one comes up. It's that deeply ingrained in our psyches.
