12 Dumb Decisions In Friends We Can't Forgive
12. Their Inconsistent Ages
One of the key components of any TV shows, Friends included, is of course the characters. If there isn't a protagonist or two (or six) to follow and root for, if there is no one to form a connection with, what is the point of watching?
Friends accomplished this, however one of the key aspects of these characters seemed to be completely overlooked by the writers. Just how old were these people? At several points throughout the series, each character has their age referred to, and when all are taken into consideration, they simply don't make sense.
Throughout the series, Ross' birthday is revealed to be in both October and December, Rachel somehow manages to be the last to turn 30 despite it already being established that Joey is the youngest of the group, and Ross even managed to stay 29 years old across multiple seasons, despite the passing of several Christmases and Thanksgivings.
As someone creating a character, surely their age would be one of the first things you'd establish? Unfortunately for Friends, this decision-making process seemingly went no further than 'twenty-something', and no one bothered to keep a tally through the years.
