Episode: Season 6 - "'Round Springfield" Bleeding Gums Murphy was one of the first Simpsons characters we can remember being killed off. He wasn't a huge character - but he had a huge influence on Lisa's life. So when she wanted to honour him by playing his songs on the radio, Bart showed his tender side, and bought Lisa a copy of his rare album "Sax on the Beach." That wasn't the only touching moment, however. After Lisa realizes the local Jazz station doesn't broadcast far enough for anyone to hear her fallen hero, Bleeding Gums makes one last appearance, this time as a ghost in the clouds, and the two preform a duet that is both sad and uplifting all at once.
