5. The Grinder

And with Grandfathered goes its stablemate, The Grinder.

The other of Fox's generally well-received freshman sitcoms, The Grinder stars Rob Lowe as a TV actor who returns home when his show ends, and after years of playing a lawyer, thinks he can be a real one, joining the family law firm.

Like with Grandfathered, it showed initial promise with favourable reviews and an eventual full-season order from Fox, but that's not been enough to stop this series being put in the, erm, grinder.
