Netflix's most controversial series, 13 Reasons Why, will be making its return to the streaming platform in a week's time for its third season. Before then, however, the service has released one final trailer to give fans of the show a glimpse of what they can expect from the upcoming installment.

Billed as the final trailer, it comes only a few weeks after Netflix unexpectedly dropped a teaser that confirmed the release date of August 23. However, brief as it was, it also confirmed that this season would continue the show's theme of pulling rug out from under its viewers, revealing that in a jaw-dropping twist, the odious Bryce Walker would be killed off - setting the stage for a season-long whodunit.

While Netflix has received criticism in recent weeks for bringing the one-season series back for a third offering, especially when the second was panned, the teaser's shocking reveal suggested that the show was about to successfully reinvent itself.
