It isnt just English-speaking countries Netflix is targeting with its original content, as evidenced with Marseille, a series based in the titular French city and that will be in the native language.
It will focus on Robert Taro (to be played by Gerard Depardieu), mayor of the city for a quarter of a century, in an upcoming election against a man he once chose as his protege and heir. Creator Dan Franck has described it as being House of Cards in French, and it will centre around politics, revenge, drug lords and more of the players in the city, many of whom will presumably be using pretty nefarious tactics to get ahead.
Although it is clearly targeting the French market, it will be available in all territories in 2016. Best start brushing up on the language, because Je ne sais pas comment parler Français.
