3. Dana Delaney Was Almost Carrie Bradshaw - Sex And The City
Sarah Jessica Parker has won four Golden Globe Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, and two Emmy Awards for her portrayal of Carrie Bradshaw on HBO's romantic sitcom Sex And The City, and though she is loved by fans, Parker was very close to not even being on the show at all. Dana Delaney, famous for roles like Susan Barnes in Fly Away Home, Sarah Ashby McClure in True Women and Mrs. Beal in Wide Awake was given the role of Carrie by producers but rejected it because she had already been a part of multiple projects involving sex and didn't want to be in something that had sex in the title or had sex as a theme. Seriously. Nowadays, most of Delaney's roles involve voice acting for a variety of cartoons, though she was also a regular on Desperate Housewives for its first three seasons and the star of Body of Proof both of which aired on ABC until the show was canceled in May of last year. While her career has been nothing to be ashamed over, Delaney has to wonder what could have been if she accepted being typecast for a role as popular as Carrie.
