What Is It

A young surgeon with Savant syndrome is hired to work at a prestigious hospital, where many of the staff doubt his abilities and he has to prove he can save people's lives even if he can't relate to them.

Reasons To Be Excited

The series comes from David Shore, who was the guy behind House and should know a thing or two about crafting a medical drama about a doctor who does things his own unique way. Freddie Highmore, meanwhile, is coming off the back of an acclaimed run on Bates Motel.

They'll obviously have to be careful with the subject matter, but it does looks so far like they're toeing the right line, and taking it seriously.
