The first season of any show is about setting out your stall committing to what people are going to see from here on out, if they get the opportunity. Sons Of Anarchy was no exception, the end of season one seeing the casual murder of protagonist Jax Tellers best friends wife. Club president Clay Morrow sets his right hand man Tig off to put a bullet or ten into Opie as punishment for allegedly ratting the MC out to the law... and Tig misses, killing Opies beloved wife in a hail of machine gun fire to the head instead.The really horrible thing here is that, even at this early stage, we like Opie. We really do. The man had left the outlaw life behind, settling down with his wife and kids. He was the still, sane point in Jax life, making his eventual fate all the more horrible but this was the moment at which Opies life started to go wrong, marking the beginning of his downward spiral.
