13. Gotham
Can you really do a Batman show without actually having Batman in it? Thats the question Gotham tried to answer in its first season, with mixed results.
Shifting the focus away from Bruce Wayne, who is a young boy in the show, and to James Gordon and the Gotham City Police Department, it struggled to find its feet in the first half of the season, with poor plotting, thinly-drawn characters and clunky dialogue. The one unanimous high-point for the show was Robin Lord Taylors fantastically creepy performance as Oswald Cobblepot.
As the show found its feet, and gained a full 22 episode season order, it grew in confidence and picked up as a result. With the likes of the Riddler and Poison Ivy also seeded, the continuation of Bruces development into Batman, and the promise of a young Joker on the scene, theres enough reason to catch-up and back for seconds this September.
