20 Best Sci-Fi TV Episodes Ever

13. No More Good Days (FlashForward, Season 1)

Just like Defying Gravity, FlashFoward was an ABC series that premiered in 2009 and was subsequently cancelled after one season, leaving one to ask €œWhat did ABC have against intelligent, well-written sci-fi back in €™09?€ FlashForward was a sprawling, multi-layered series that deserved the time needed to tell its story. In the premiere episode, on a seemingly ordinary day, the entire world€™s population blacks-out at exactly the same time for a total of 2 minutes and 17 seconds. During the black-outs, people have a flash-forward to a moment in their lives six months in the future. Two FBI agents played by Joseph Fiennes and John Cho try to determine what caused this event. As relationships are changed by the visions people experienced, the world struggles to make sense of what€™s occurred. And what€™s the significance of the fact that some people had no vision at all? FlashForward would have been better suited for the current trend of only twelve or so episodes per season. While the finale left fans with a draw-dropping cliffhanger, sadly never resolved, it was the premiere episode that grabbed viewers by the throat and heralded one of the wildest concepts for a sci-fi series ever.
