20 Best TV Shows of 2026 (So Far)

2. Shrinking (Season 3)

With more sitcom brilliance from Bill Lawrence - who's had nothing short of a monumental year with the return of Scrubs, Rooster, and a shock announcement of another season of Ted Lasso - Shrinking has just had its best year yet.

A beautiful blending of drama and comedy that's as profound as it is wacky good fun, Shrinking's third season finds Jason Segel's mourning psychiatrist attempting to reconnect with the world in the wake of his wife's death, all the while his life and the lives of his friends and daughter entwine in warm-hearted tales of romance and friendship.

Segel continues his best work as a wounded widower on shaky ground, whilst Harrison Ford delivers the finest performance of his career (seriously!), a wonderfully sarcastic and touchingly comforting portrayal of fatherly wisdom and dad jokes.

Shrinking has all that makes Lawrence's sitcoms work, and it remains the peak of a staggering career, a wise and honest examination of life for all its highs and lows that leaves you sobbing one second, laughing wildly the next.
