Weddings never go well in soaps - or TV in general - but none ever went as far as the Dynasty season five finale, which saw armed men burst into the ceremony and begin gunning down everyone on sight. Audience's jaws must have been hanging open by the time the end credits rolled. It is so extreme a cliffhanger you're not sure whether you should be laughing or gasping with horror. It is even more interesting to note that many cast contracts were up by the time season five ended. With that in mind, anyone could have be dead. In some shows, you would expect certain characters to make it out alive. With Dynasty, no one seemed safe. Utterly ridiculous and brutal, this was surely the Red Wedding of the 1980's. Who knows, perhaps George R. R. Martin was inspired by this Dynasty massacre?
