In the episode M.E. Time, Amy Santiago asks Sergeant Jeffords if he would take a break from his "doodles" to help her sketch a perp. Jeffords dives into the project with a bit too much artistic zeal, and later paints a portrait of Holt in an ill-fated attempt to cheer up the captain. Little did anyone realise that Terry Crews can actually paint and draw just as well in real life. Before being offered an obvious scholarship to play football at Western Michigan University, Crews was offered a scholarship for his artistic talents.
