8. Fans Think Barney's Nelson's Dad

Every Simpsons character has such a distinct look. Of course the original family was designed to be immediately identifiable in silhouette, but all of Springfield€™s residents have simple designs that help them stand out, to the extent that when two characters look oddly similar, it raises a few eyebrows.

With similar coloured clothes, the same messy brown hair and that signature slouch, fans have drawn lines between drunken Barney and bully Nelson. Are they related in some way?

Sadly, we've met Nelson's father a couple of times, who is essentially an older version of his son, so this is certainly in the area of fan theory. Unless we were to get some form of time travel...
